Double blocks are used when making up tackle for main sheets, boom vangs, back stay adjusters, and sometimes running backstays.  Double blocks allow you to bring the blocks closer together than fiddle blocks will.  Often times you will need to lock off the swivel mechanism to keep the lines from twisting.  Doble blocks do not work well if you are using 2 seperate lines with varying tension.  Rigging Only offers double blocks from Schaefer, Selden and Harken.  Other brands are available.
